Ink and Honey is a graphic, print and web design company, with a strong focus on developing and crafting bespoke branding for individuals and small businesses. I place a lot of emphasis on unique, hand crafted design that takes the story at the heart of your brand, and grows it into something tangible that you can take out into the world and use to tell everyone who you are. Communication is a cornerstone of this process, and I work directly with every client throughout the project to develop a final set of materials that not only embody the story of your brand, but also deliver a strong, cohesive set of marketing tools to shout your name from the rooftops.

The name Ink and Honey is about creating great things from small and elemental beginnings. Every great novel is made reality with ink, every slice of perfect morning toast and honey begins with a flower and a bee. Every great brand starts with a spark, an idea, a dream. My job is to take a spark, and create fireworks.

As a fashion marketing graduate and self taught designer, I have held various jobs in marketing and digital communication, all of them leaning heavily towards the creative side of the business. I’ve had the privilege of working with and learning from some great companies, grounding my marketing and design background in a solid knowledge of what goes into great branding and promotion, as well as project managing the design process, and most recently learning how to be my own boss!

After deciding to pursue the design route full time, I have spent the last year working as a freelance desktop publisher, and launched Ink & Honey in August 2015.

My fiance Rikki and I are a pair of incurable travellers, and we’re currently on the road in Central and South America. We’ll be heading to New Zealand at the end of the year, where we’ll be trying out life on the other side of the world for a couple of years – a very long way from the Yorkshire village I grew up in. I graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 2011, spent a year teaching English in Vietnam before that, and am a qualified scuba diver (the beach is my happy place.)

I met Rikki in a hostel in Bali in 2013 whilst on a year long trip through South East Asia, and we recently got engaged, although wedding planning is on hold while I navigate running a company and getting to New Zealand! He’s a Sign Language interpreter, and we’ll be exploring New Zealand slowly based on wherever his work takes us, because all I need is my laptop, some wifi and some inspiration – and perhaps the occasional end of project mojito.
